Lighthouse Learning Academy Teacher Email Phone: 920-793-2291 Hello! My name is Andy Myers. I had been a special education teacher at Koenig since 1994 . . . what a great place! Starting fall of 2021 I became the District Transition Coordinator - another exciting chapter !
Cedarburg High School, 1988
Marquette University, 1988-1990, Journalism
UW-Milwaukee, 1990-1994, B.S. Special Education
Olivet University, Master Of Education, 2002
Outside of schooI, I have a wife and four kids. We love the outdoors. We camp, hunt, fish, and travel whenever we can. Believe it or not, our favorite season is WINTER - and NOT because of snow days!
I love working with people, especially those for whom things don't come as easily as they do for others.
Professionally, I am a past board member for the Wisconsin Association for Children with Behavior Disorders, have held the title of Special Education Department Chair, and was a Kohl Teacher Fellowship nominee in 2000.
In the spring of 2015 I was named Teacher of the Year by the Two Rivers Elks Club. This recognition was humbly accepted on behalf of my entire TRPS Family, as we work as one.
I am presently the transition coordinator, working with students as they enter the career world. I am currently certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Techniques, A.L.I.C.E. trained, and enjoy taking an active role in helping children with special needs find success.
I hope you're reading a good book!
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
