First Change:
The Board has approved the addition of two school days when elementary students will not attend. During these days, elementary staff will focus on developing and implementing the Act 20-required Personal Reading Plans (PRPs) and developing intervention and progress monitoring measurements for students who score below the 25th percentile. The new requirements of Act 20 have posed a significant challenge for elementary staff, and these two days are designed to provide them with dedicated time to address these important tasks.
Second Change:
You will also notice a shift of a professional growth day to Monday, April 20th, scheduled closely to April 6th. Originally planned for May, this change was made to give elementary staff more time to meet the Act 20 PRP requirements, which mandate that reading plans be completed 45 days before the end of the school year.
Third Change:
May 22nd, the Friday before Memorial Day, will be a regular school day. This change was made to allow December 22nd as a day off, accommodating the winter break, which falls in the middle of the week.
