Jacob Yang

My name is Jacob Yang, and I am a second-year Special Education teacher. I support, teach, and co-teach with the high school ELA team to students with variety of special needs (Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional & Behavioral challenges, and more). Additionally, I am an advisor for the Multicultural Club, one of the Esports Coaches, and one of the district’s Hmong bilingual interpreters.

I am a Two Rivers native, born and raised in this community. A fun fact about me: I am a former student in this school district. I graduated from Harding High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 2018. After taking a gap year and transitioning from Minnesota back to Two Rivers, Wisconsin, I attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2019 and graduated in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education (Cross-Categorical). I became a Special Education teacher because the teachers who supported and guided me helped me not allow my IEP to define my success (big shout-out for this high school). Therefore, I want to support and guide all students to success, whether they have an IEP or not!

During the summer, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and traveling, and kayaking. I also enjoy indoor activities such as board/card games such as Magic The Gathering and cooking. Most of the activities I enjoy are spent with family and friends, which helps maintain my mental health. Additionally, I am a summer employee at Ammo Inc., where I have worked for more than three years.
