Child Labor Law Update:
A.) 2017 Wisconsin Act 11 was signed by Governor Walker on June 21, 2017. The effective date of this law is June 23, 2017. The law removes the requirement that 16 and 17 year old minors obtain work permits.
The following materials are needed to obtain a work permit:
1) A letter from the employer, preferably on their letterhead stationary, stating the following:
2) A letter from a parent or guardian giving you permission to work at that place of business. The letter must be signed by the parent/guardian along with the parent/guardian address and phone number.
3) A birth certificate, driver's license, baptismal certificate, or passport.
4) Social security card or a copy of the card. If the card is lost or stolen, a receipt from the Social Security Office is required verifying that you have applied for a replacement card.
5) $10.00 cash or check - Please make checks payable to Two Rivers School District.
Bring all of these materials to the District Office. ALL of the above requirements must be presented in order to receive a work permit.
